“For anyone out there looking for a great source of exotic woods for their business or just for a hobby I cannot recommend highly enough Koality Woods. As a hobbyist I enjoy building things of quality using quality parts. As an ukulele player I guess it is only natural to seek out quality exotic tonewoods from a source in Hawaii. I'll be happy to tell you about the product but first let me tell you a little about my experience with Mike and his family.
Anyone, I suppose, can offer wood for sale. What makes Mike and Koality Woods different is the outstanding customer service and attention to details. Koality Woods begins your customer service with an outstanding website that shows you in photographs exactly what you will be getting. I've found Koality Wood's pricing to be very reasonable and when something is on sale it is an even better bargain. All of my orders have been received extremely well packaged and in just a few days after I've placed an order.
In addition to the standard purchase customer service, I have asked Mike for items that are not currently in the photo catalog. He has gone out of his way even during a difficult move and setup of his business at a new location to find ways to accommodate my every request. I'm sure there are things that even Koality Woods cannot do but I appreciate that Mike even listens to my requests. To date he has found a reasonable solution for every request I've made.
I've ordered and received several tenor ukulele sets including sets of Koa, Hawaiian mango and Hawaiian grown Australian Blackwood. Each set is more beautiful than the previous sets. I've built a couple of fantastic ukuleles at a fraction of the cost for similar finished product and I've enjoyed every build (even the ones where I made mistakes).
My recommendation to you is to place an order with Koality Woods. I'm certainly not an expert in wood but I am delighted to have Mike and Koality Woods as what I consider a friend (and my personal Hawaiian exotic wood expert). Thank you Koality Woods ... I'm a customer for life.”
