Koa Hardwood Flooring - 3/4" Tongue & Groove

$60.00

Hardwood Koa Flooring

Our custom milled hardwood Koa flooring is 3/4" thick allowing you to refinish the flooring several times during it's life. You cannot refinish any other type of material flooring, which is why our hardwood Koa flooring is the best material choice for your flooring remodel.

Each Koa flooring slat is 2-1/2" wide with a 1/4" wide tongue, leaving a visible face that's 2-1/4" wide after the flooring system is assembled. Each slat has two relief channels on the bottom so this system can be glued in place.

Our hardwood Koa flooring comes in random lengths ranging from approximately 12 inches to 60 inches long, with most slats averaging 30 to 48 inches long.

Please reach out to us before purchasing so we can custom calculate shipping costs. We will deliver your hardwood Koa flooring to your house for free if you live anywhere on Oahu.

Price is $45 per square foot for a mixed grade of select/better and low curl. For curly Koa flooring please reach out to us for a custom quote.

GRADING

Koa is similar to diamonds. There are different grades that reflect the quality and attractiveness of the wood. The predominant factor considered when grading koa is the presence of curl. Even though koa can range from light golden colors to darker chocolate browns, color is not typically considered when grading except where mineral staining or similar defects are present. Koa is graded based on these guidelines:

  • High Curl

    • Bold, tight curls prevalent throughout the entire piece with no imperfections. Some sets have a strong curl throughout most of the piece with very limited, if any, areas where curl fades

  • Medium Curl

    • Strong curl in some areas although curl visibility may be limited at specific angles

  • Select/Better

    • Wood is quater-sawn but there is very little if any curl throughout the piece

PHYTOSANITARY PRACTICES

Taking care of the forest and the wood we harvest from it is our most important responsibility. We kiln dry all of our sets at a temperature between 110-115°F for a minimum period of 1 week or until all of the moisture readings show the moisture in all sets is below 5%. We debark all sets whenever possible and always when shipping internationally. We can provide phytosanitary certificates from the Department of Agriculture when required by your country for a small additional fee. Please contact us if unsure of the phytosanitary requirements for importing wood to your country if not from the United States.
